Earlier this month, meanwhile, the duo took to the America’s Got Talent stage to audition with that very song, hoping to impress the judges with their distinctive songwriting style and emotive but uplifting songwriting. “We wanted it to be a song specifically about our mom,” Jenna said, discussing the duo’s choice of song before their audition. “We lost our mom to mental health and that shook up our world.” Suffice to say, they certainly did their mum proud with their moving performance.

As for the judges, fellow Canadian Howie Mandel was particularly impressed, declaring “this song is an important song and I think that you are gonna go a long way in this competition.”
Whilst Stuart and Jenna were clearly humbled by this reaction, as The Reklaws the pair are no strangers to playing in front of huge crowds. Just one instance of this came in 2019, when they duetted with singer Drake Milligan at the Canadian Country Music Association awards, playing the full-blooded country tune ‘Honky Tonkin’ About’.
