A Chinese school principal believes that shuffle dancing with his students is a great way to keep them active through the school week.
In the Shanxi province of China, the principal of Xi Guan Primary School has taken an innovative approach to keeping his students active during their school day. His name is Zhang Pengfei, and he became concerned after seeing his students spend many hours on their phones, computers, and tablets.
Zhang taught himself to shuffle dance and believed he could help his students “exercise more” using the dance, so he started teaching them during their break times. Shuffle Dancing
The dance is also known as “The Melbourne Shuffle” which developed in the 1980s. It’s a full-body workout and will most likely allow the students of Xi Guan Primary School to create some very popular TikTok videos.
When videos of Zhang Pengfei shuffling with his students first appeared on the internet in 2019, his approach to solving the problem of children not getting enough exercise and movement during their school week has been admired by many – it’s also pretty entertaining to watch too!
