Pop superstar P!nk stunned her entire London audience at the 2023 Hyde Park festival when she invited her 12-year-old daughter, Willow Sage Hart, on stage for a live rendition of their mother-daughter lockdown duet, “Cover Me In Sunshine.”
This heartwarming performance has gone viral all over again, amassing more than 358,000 views since P!nk posted the footage on her YouTube page last month. Music Man readers can watch the magic unfold in the video below…
P!nk introduces her upcoming song, admitting that she didn’t actually play a hand in composing “Cover Me In Sunshine.” However, once she got the chance to record the tune, she realized that its lyrics didn’t just resonate with her, but struck a chord with her eldest daughter, Willow, who was just nine years old at the time.
Together, they recorded the single and released it in February 2021, topping the charts in several European countries including Romania, Slovakia, and Belgium.
Fast forward two years and, with the COVID lockdowns lifted, P!nk brought her hit to the Hyde Park stage to make for one of the most wholesome performances of her entire career. After slaying the first segments of the song alone, with nothing but a single guitarist backing her voice, P!nk surprises the crowd by welcoming Willow Sage Hart to the limelight, to take on the remaining verses.
An ultra proud mother-daughter moment unfolds before thousands of onlookers as young Willow bravely sings her lines to Hyde Park’s megalithic audience, as P!nk watches with pure adoration. Her love is boundless, P!nk almost appearing on the verge of tears in places as she basks in her daughter’s talent.
This isn’t the first time Willow Sage Hart and P!nk have wowed an audience together, by the way. In 2018, the mother-daughter duo performed a studio rendition of The Greatest Showman’s soundtrack hit, “A Million Dreams” in a viral video that’s racked up more than 51.7 million YouTube views to date. Then, in 2024, the pair performed a stripped-down version of P!nk’s own hit, “What About Us” at the Democratic National Convention.
But when it comes to this Hyde Park performance, fans have been spreading nothing but love in the comments section. Viewers have noticed, “You can tell she’s so nervous, but happy to be with her momma!” and “She is so lucky to have such an encouraging mom,” as another fan poignantly highlighted, “I love when [P!nk] & Willow perform together. She is such a good mom. She has protected her from Hollywood while also allowing her to shine.”
