Mariah Carey sang a duet onstage with her 13-year-old daughter Monroe, and it was just the sweetest thing! The mum and daughter duo sang together on “Jesus Born on This Day” just in time for Christmas last year. Carey gave Monroe plenty of room to shine, as they sang their lines individually as well as harmonizing. The apple has definitely not fallen far from the tree, as the talented teen sounded heavenly, just like her mama!
Carey and Monroe sang together during the pop star’s show at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois. The Music Man readers might be interested to hear that Monroe sat in on not one but two songs, as she also sang The Waitresses’ “Christmas Wrapping” earlier in the night. Mum and daughter looked so happy to be able to share the moment together onstage, and fans at home were loving it, as they tuned in 1.4 million times on YouTube.
The pair shared the stage at Carey’s December 3, 2023 show in Chicago. The New York pop icon shared a 17-song set packed full of Christmas classics, including a number of songs from her hit 1994 album Merry Christmas. Fans really enjoyed seeing Mum and daughter sing together and added comments such as “Monroe has an amazing voice! So glad to see Mariah doing well and sharing the stage with her children!” and “How beautiful their voices blend in such an amazing way. Love this.”

Carey and Monroe have shared the stage several times, with Monroe always impressing with her musical talents. The dynamic duo has created several popular performances on YouTube, although the most popular video is a little left of center. In a 12 million view viral video, an 8-year-old Monroe can be seen wailing on some super high notes, but then the audience gets a little surprise a few moments into the video.
Monroe Cannon was born on April 30, 2011, in Los Angeles, California. She is the daughter of Carey and American actor Nick Cannon, and the twin of her brother Moroccan. Like her famous parents, Monroe can often be seen making appearances onstage as a performer as well as treading the red carpet with her parents at award shows and premieres.

Carey co-wrote “Jesus Born on This Day” with producer Walter Afanasieff, and the song was included on her 1994 album Merry Christmas. The album proved to be quite popular for Carey, as it went nine times Platinum in the US.
