Jehovah Shalom A Capella is making believers with these angelic voices! The Ugandan six-piece’s voices are so heavenly that it sounds unreal, but these gentlemen are the real deal. And they’re doing the Lord’s work. 9.3 million fans came to hear their testimony on “Have a Little Talk With Jesus.” There was one stirring moment in particular that viewers just had to keep replaying. At 1:20, bass singer Kato Samuel (bottom right) started to hit some impossibly low and sonorous notes.
His bandmates reacted with a satisfaction and joy that was so beautiful to watch. Kato wasn’t the only one who was cooking here, though. Lead vocalist Kyagulanyi Elijah (bottom left) delivered some truly delectable high-range vocals in the final section. And The Music Man has to say that arranging the song for six voices, singing entirely a cappella, and pulling off such a captivating performance is truly impressive. It’s easy to hear why this number gained Jehovah Shalom A Capella a global following!

Jehovah Shalom A Capella has been making waves in the gospel scene with their unique take on a capella worship music. One of their greatest performances came when they sang “When the Morning Comes.” Hearing those six voices sing together in flawless harmony is so satisfying to listen to. And yet again, the joyful energy the group puts out together as they perform really makes their music stand out from the pack.
Jehovah Shalom A Capella is a six-piece gospel group that formed in 2006, when the members were in high school. The Music Man readers might be interested to hear that the members initially worked together in a larger choir before dialing into forming the six-piece. The members are all active in the Seventh-Day Adventist Church. The lineup features Amos Wasswa (alto, tenor), Kato Samuel (soprano, bass), Kyagulanyi Elijah (lead, writer), James Wasswa (lead), Luyima Joseph (tenor, producer), and Sembubbu Asaph (bass, beatboxing). Kato being listed as a bass and soprano singer is not a typo – he really does have that incredible range.
