This custom-made classical swimming pool is definitely not something you see every day. This swimming pool has more features and character than you could ever imagine.

Even when you’re in a luxury hotel somewhere near the equator, you won’t get to swim in this completely unique swimming pool, unless you’re in Jay Dweck’s back garden in Bedford, New York, USA.

Jay Dweck is a former banker at Goldman Sachs with enough money and vision to make this special water feature come to life.

Jay had special requirements for the size of a swimming pool he wanted to install in his garden. He wanted a swimming pool long enough to swim lengths, but due to the way the garden was shaped the pool would need to have areas that were long and thin.

After he drew the initial plans for his new pool, he noticed what he had drawn on the paper looked a lot like a violin. Being an amateur violin player and an avid classical collector himself, an idea popped into his head and he sought out a company to make it come to life.

Jay approached a design company called “Cipriano Landscape Design and Custom Swimming Pools” who, being true to their name, were able to carry out this custom swimming pool build. Jay wanted the pool to be shaped like a Stradivarius Violin. Which is one of the violins built by members of the Italian family Stradivari, particularly Antonio Stradivari. A very iconic shaped violin perfect for a landmark swimming pool.

The company did a fantastic job of bringing Jay’s vision to life. They embarked on the project knowing full well this would be the most complex pool design and installation ever attempted.

The strings inside the pool are fitted with 5760 strands of fiber optic lighting for night time illumination which can be individually controlled to create incredible light shows to music. The pool is installed with a 2000-gallon a minute Riverflow jet system which creates water currents for swimmers or other water sport activities.

Cipriano Landscape Design really didn’t hold back at all on this project. They were able to incorporate two fish ponds into the bow of the instrument. The bow intersects the neck of the violin where underwater there are two transparent acrylic panels allowing swimmers to see the fish from the pool.

The chin rest of the violin near the bottom of the instrument is a 12-person overflow spa beautifully finished entirely in jet black glass tiles.

The pool boasts even more features such as a 1,000,000 BTU heater allowing the musical pool and connected spa to be used in the winter. There is also an underwater audio system that allows swimmers to listen to music whilst they do their lengths.
