Syd clearly hit the spot for both Adam Levine and John Legend. The two coaches hit their buzzer before the New Jersey singer even got through her first line.
Clearly, Syd had the power and the soul, and this was going to be an audition to remember. Kelly Clarkson, however, did not turn, which was quite puzzling to The Music Man at first. Once Syd finished the song, Kelly said that she was “so mad” because she already had a full team and couldn’t recruit Syd. Adam and John both did their best to get Syd on their team, with John begging her while saying “please” with hands held together.
Syd’s audition was one of the more popular The Voice segments this season, drawing 610,000 views across two uploads on the official channel. Many fans watching at home believed Syd was a major contender and added comments such as “I love watching celebrities audition for a show right before they become celebrities. Case in point” and “This is genuinely one of the best auditions in years. Very, very well done!”
So far Syd has only made one appearance on The Voice. She has, however, shared a number of performances on her YouTube channel, Sydney Millevoi. One of her most popular uploads is her take on Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas is You.” This lighthearted cover showed that Syd can do a range of styles, and it’d be great to see her try her hand at some Mariah later in the season.

The Music Man readers probably won’t be surprised that Syd chose to be on Team John. His soul and R&B background is just about a perfect fit for her influences and style.
