About Sophie Lloyd
Sophie Lloyd is a talented musician from London, England who plays incredibly catchy lead guitar compositions on YouTube.
She graduated from BIMM London, Londons Music College in 2018 where she studied popular music performance. Below is an awesome and completely unique cover of Guns ‘n’ Roses Sweet Child o’ Mine showcasing Sophie’s amazing ability to “shred”.
Sophie’s Passion And Goals
Sophie had already reached grade 8 on the guitar at just 16 years old. Since then, she has developed her own unique style and technique. Predominantly a rock and metal guitarist, Sophie is passionate about her music and aims to take the rock ‘n’ roll world by storm with her impressive performances and super catchy riffs. The video below is one of her own awesome compositions.
Sophie is the queen of a guitar soloing technique called “Shredding”. This is essentially a very fast note progression performed using a guitar. The difference between Sophie’s performances and some other guitarists that use this technique, is Sophie keeps her solos catchy and musically interesting. Playing a lot of notes quickly may look impressive, but making it sound brilliant at the same time is real talent. You can see from this performance of Bon Jovi’s “Living On A Prayer” the accuracy and precision of each note in her performance.
Sophie has over 10 years of experience playing her instrument and composing her own music. She released her debut EP in 2018 called “Delusions” which was produced by Jason Wilson. The EP has been very well received by metal fans and we think it’s awesome here at The Music Man, definitely worth a listen!
Sophie started her YouTube channel in 2011 and has racked up over 54 million views by December 2020. Her music is catchy and extremely impressive to watch, we are sure she is an absolute godsend in a recording studio. Her two most viewed videos on her YouTube channel are both her own compositions, which tells you everything you need to know about this talented guitarist.
Sophie has said that her degree in music really helped her understand musical theory and allowed her to learn her guitar fretboard inside out. A great platform for a hard-working, talented, passionate musician to continue to build on.
