A Trio Of Senior Citizens Pull Out Their Best Michael Jackson Moves To Billie Jean

Whether you’re a die-hard Michael Jackson fan or not, Billie Jean is unquestionably a brilliant song. And one that's been covered by the likes of Cobra Starship and even Coldplay in recent years.

But for every cover heard on the radio, multiple acts pay homage to the late Jackson and his incredible songs in their own unique ways. One such performance came from three senior residents of Leisure World (an active senior community) in Seal Beach, California. Whilst Bert Carroll, aged 81, Frank Tripoli, aged 77, and Kurt Bourhenne, aged 71, might not be as swift on their feet as Jackson, their moves are right on cue and had the audience howling with laughter thanks to their moonwalking, sequined gloves and in true Jackson style, crotch-grabbing efforts. Going viral in 2009, this video was uploaded in YouTube’s 4th year of existence.

Because who said old age was all slippers and cigars? These OAPs, dressed in full swagger costumes, are living proof that age is just a number. And with Jackson being the showman he was, this is just the kind of performance he would have cheered on from the front row.

People took to Youtube to commend the fabulous trio, calling it heartwarming, inspirational, and defining the spirit of life. These golden oldies are far from ready to hang up their dancing shoes, and rightly so with so much enthusiasm on stage. What started as an act for a Texas Hold ‘Em party has seen the gentleman become an internet sensation, racking up more than 122k likes, 23 million+ views and countless comments of support.

The song, Billie Jean, was first released in 1983 and produced by Jackson and Quincy Delight Jones Jr. (an American record producer as well as musician, songwriter and composer). It reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States and has since sold more than 10 million copies worldwide, making it one of the best selling singles ever.

And thanks to people like Bert, Frank and Kurt, this, and many other iconic songs, will stay fresh in our minds for years to come. Learn more about this article on this YouTube channel.
