Robbie Williams reveals all on brand new acoustic “All My Life” performance

Robbie Williams is back on the scene with his new album, “Britpop,” which hit stores and streaming sites last month. To hype up the record and its latest, all-revealing single, “All My Life,” Robbie recently took to the studio of talkSPORT for a live performance, where he put a twist on his brand new tune.

Music Man readers can watch the magic unfold in the video below…

But what was the twist? Robbie transformed his pop hit into an acoustic ballad especially for this live performance, with his stripped-back rendition highlighting the personal story underlying his lyrics.

Not had a chance to catch the official version of Robbie Williams’ “All My Life” yet? Check it out in the clip below!

Robbie, 51, performs with nothing other than two acoustic guitarists and a maraca-shaking percussionist, letting his bold and legendary vocal tones soar over his band’s bright soundscape. And his latest album title is the perfect match for this rendition – the guitarists’ mood and Robbie’s melodies carrying traces of an Oasis hit.

Yet his lyrics are settled in self-discovered truths, as Robbie unravels his past and personality for the world to see. His second verse reveals it all: “The only thing I’d miss is misbehaviour / I’ve made friends with knowing that I’m strange / Masochistic, but I’m always entertaining / And I know I’ll die, but I’ll never leave the stage.”

He hints at his struggles with fame, substance abuse, and public perception, framing each in the inspiring light of a man set on recovery as he moves forward through thick and thin. These lyrics may be identical to his official single, but Robbie’s humble, acoustic version bravely places them front and centre.

Fans were quick to pick up on his message, with one top commenter on this performance writing, “So glad to see Rob in a really good happy family place that came across massively.” Another fan reckoned “All My Life” was their “favourite track of the album,” while others praised the genuinity of Robbie’s talent, commenting, “He sings the same way he does on the album.”

“Britpop” marked the thirteenth studio album of Robbie’s solo career; the long-awaited follow-up to his 2019 album, “The Christmas Present.” It peaked at #1 on the UK Album Charts, despite its six singles (including an unexpected collab with Black Sabbath’s Tony Iommi, “Rocket”) each failing to snatch a spot on the official Singles Charts.
