Rock Band No Resolve Cover Moana Tune In Epic Genre Twist Moment that the Internet Can’t Get Enough Of

When you think of songs from the film ‘Moana’, you likely don’t think of rock musicians wielding distorted guitars, pounding rhythms, and brooding vocal chops. Post-hardcore band No Resolve went some way to changing that, however, when they covered a tune from the much-loved film in their own inimitable style and left millions worldwide with their jaws on the floor.

The tune that No Resolve chose to cover was ‘How Far I’ll Go,’ originally an uplifting and inspirational ballad. Bringing an edgy rock energy to the tune, the band manages to transform it into a hardcore 2000s rock anthem, leaving viewers shocked that the song’s beautiful melodies and positive message can still sound so good in such a different musical style.

With over 10 million views on YouTube alone, many fans of the cover have flocked to the comment section to leave their praise for this epic genre twist moment. One viewer simply wrote “this is awesome” while many others praised the incredible vocal abilities of the band’s singer, who really takes the rendition to another level of jaw-dropping.

And if you can’t get enough of No Resolve’s sound, Music Man readers, have no fear – there are plenty of other videos on YouTube that show them covering popular songs in their own rocked-up style. Take the video below, for instance, which sees them taking Adele’s ballad ‘Set Fire to the Rain’ and transforming it into a dark, smouldering metal tune.

Our favourite No Resolve video to date, however, has to be their take on ‘How Far I’ll Go’ from Moana. Even after several listens, it is shocking to hear how well the song works in this harder, more brutal musical style, and we can’t wait to see what other songs of this kind the band take on in future videos!
