Amassing over 1.3M views across various uploads in a matter of weeks, 55-year-old Mariah dug out the hits “Don’t Forget About Us” and “We Belong Together” from her vast, 15-studio-album back catalogue. These singles appeared on her tenth studio album, yet despite nearly 20 years having passed, Mariah’s fans can be seen singing and grooving to the timeless tunes as if they were brand new hits.
Stunning the room in a two-tone ivory and black silk gown, with her classic Carey curls in place, Mariah proves her voice has hardly aged a day, hitting extravagant high notes and dancing through the vocal registers like an R&B legend, while the audience laps up the iconic moment.

Mariah shot to fame following the success of her eponymous debut album, which hit #1 on the US album charts and spawned five US #1 singles in the process. The New York-born singer cemented her pop legacy four years later with the album “Merry Christmas” and its celebrated lead single, “All I Want For Christmas Is You.” After consistently topping the US charts through the ‘90s, “We Belong Together” became Mariah’s first #1 of the 21st century, with “Don’t Forget About Us” following shortly after.
Mariah was far from the only star featured at the AMAs historic anniversary special. Also on the bill were Jennifer Hudson, Chaka Khan and Gladys Knight, country legends Brad Paisley and Kane Brown as well as pop-punk superstars Green Day. Carrie Underwood and Jennifer Lopez also made appearances at the event, which aired in early October this year.
