Miumiu first began learning guitar at the age of three, initially being taught by her father Zhou Jingwei, who had made a career as a classical guitarist and music tutor. Miumiu practiced for at least two hours a day after her primary school lessons had ended and, on weekends, received extra lessons in guitar, drums, and piano.
According to Zhou Jingwei, Miumiu had racked up an astonishing 2,000 hours of total practice by the time her “Fly Me To The Moon” cover reached YouTube; the father stating, “She just practices a lot. Most children are also busy with various extracurricular classes. Miumiu just chose one and studied diligently.”
Her YouTube channel was already jam-packed with clips and covers, uploaded from the very start of her practice at three years of age. But “Fly Me To The Moon” marked Miumiu’s breakout moment; an instant viral sensation which catapulted the prodigy to fame. To date, Miumiu boasts more than 397,000 YouTube subscribers and 82,700 Instagram followers, with a total view count of 46.3 million across her 183 live videos.
