Let Jac Ross’s beautiful voice heal your soul with his uplifting cover of Celine Dion’s “Because You Loved Me”

Celine Dion is one of those artists that most singers fear to cover, because who can live up to that voice? But American soul singer Jac Ross was unfazed by that, and we’re glad because he gave us such a beautiful rendition of Dion’s “Because You Loved Me.” Ross has the gift of such a soul-stirring voice, which he paired to great effect with his dynamic piano playing to create an emotive and powerful version of the classic ‘90s hit.

Ross dropped the cover three days before Mother’s Day, with the message “For all the mamas in the world. For anyone that’s ever made an impact on the life of others.” This message added a lovely personal touch to the performance, and really highlights the power of the lyrics. Here on The Music Man, we always have time for Celine Dion’s music, and this is definitely one of the best covers we’ve heard of her songs in recent years.

Ross uploaded his take on “Because You Loved Me” to YouTube on May 8, 2022, and it has since drawn 1.2 million views. Dion fans gave plenty of love for the cover below the video, adding comments such as “You could sing the Olive Garden menu and I’d be happy. Your voice takes me to another place” and “Beautiful rendition. Really makes the skill of the original lyrics/melody come out too, hearing it with another voice and slightly different emphasis/timing.”

Ross has scored several viral hits on his YouTube channel with his covers of popular songs. Another really outstanding cover is his version of Adele’s “Easy on Me,” which is guaranteed to deliver goosebumps. Ross just has such incredible soul power in his voice, and why he is not already a massive star, I just can’t say.

Although he hasn’t made a major commercial breakthrough, The Music Man is happy to report Ross has done pretty well for himself on his YouTube channel, which has 252,000 subscribers. The American singer-songwriter uploads a combination of his original music and covers to the channel. Ross has scored nine videos on his channel that surpassed one million views, two of which are his original songs. On his seven hit cover uploads, the American singer-songwriter takes on songs by artists such as Sam Cooke, Tarnia, Monica, and Muni Long. Ross’s original music, meanwhile, is available via Darkchild Records and Universal Music Group label Island Records.
