Girl Group GForce, Aged 10-12, Shock Simon Cowell With Sassy Original Song “Simon Says”

Simon Cowell has just about seen it all, but he definitely wasn’t ready for this performance on America’s Got Talent! Girl group GForce, who are aged just 10 to 12, shocked the big boss with a sassy original tune “Simon Says” during the judge cuts round. Cowell looked a bit taken aback when they announced the song title to him, and the young group then blew the audience away with a fiery performance packed full of attitude.

The five-piece group’s original song was about the experience of wannabe stars auditioning on talent shows, discussing their hopes and dreams and the attitude they wanted to bring to the table. Despite their young age, GForce packed in a ton of confidence and attitude that gave off the vibe of veteran performers. Honestly I’ve never seen such a powerhouse performance from such a young vocal group before – it really has to be seen to be believed.

GForce’s show-stopping performance clocked up 5.5 million views on YouTube, making it one of the most popular vocal group performances in the history of the show. Judge Gabrielle Union was picking up what GForce was putting down big time, and told the girls that “The reason why I wanted to become a judge on America’s Got Talent is precisely for this moment. What made me an even bigger fan was when you said ‘We are our own bosses, and always have been.’ You had me at ‘hello.’”

Guest judge Dwyane Wade commented next, saying “You guys are incredible. The swag, the confidence, the attitude. Whatever y’all are selling I’m buying it.” However, every fairy tale needs a villain, and Howie Mandel seemed determined to rain on GForce’s parade, saying “You’re adorable, you’re good dancers, you’re good singers. But I couldn’t hear a word. All I heard was ‘Simon says’ and ‘jump.’” Another hit video from GForce on YouTube is their super cute ukulele cover of Jonas Blue’s “Rise.”

Unsurprisingly, Mandel’s doom and gloom review got him heavily booed by the audience. At this point, GForce appealed directly to Cowell, asking, “What is Simon gonna say?”

Cowell then kept the kids on ice for the moment, saying, “I have a real pet hate for groups who are told what to say, everything’s rehearsed. It never, ever works. Because it’s all about authenticity.” The girls looked quite worried at this point, but then Cowell dropped his finisher, saying, “But having said that, I think this is a way, way better audition than the first time.”

GForce then successfully advanced through the judge cuts round and competed in the quarterfinals, although they weren’t able to progress to the semifinals. If you would like to hear more from this talented vocal group, you can follow their [Instagram] for more incredible updates.
