Although there are many incredible performances in the various "X Got Talent" shows around the world, one of the most visually impressive has to be the acrobatic performances. That's why Duo Destiny blew the judges away and received a standing ovation in their audition for Poland's Got Talent.
Both members of Duo Destiny had impressive acrobatics backgrounds before they came together. Kinga Grzeskow was born on the 27th of June 1995 in the city of Zielona Gora, Poland and began training in acrobatic sports when she was only seven years old. Just four years later, she was selected to be part of her national team.
She competed internationally for the next six years. She finished off her time with the team by competing at the World Championships in Orlando in 2012. Believe it or, she was still at school throughout her career up to this point and didn't graduate until 2014. After that, she got her first job with the Australian company Aerial Angels, performing at the LumiAir show in Malaysia.
Goncarlo was born in Samora Correia, Portugal in 1988. He began competing in acrobatic sports at a slightly older age than Kinga; he was eleven. He competed in the mixed pair division, and he made rapid progress. He had a very successful career, and between 2010 and 2013, he became the European Champion, World Champion, World Ranking Champion, and the World Cup winner.
As well as competing in acrobatic sports, he continued his education, and after he graduated high school, he went to university, where he completed his degree in Sports and Physical Education. He started working as a personal trainer and took a job at a gym in Lisbon, coaching people with health conditions. He worked there for five years until fate, or rather Kinga, came knocking.
She had gotten a job in the Pirates Adventure and Reloaded Show in Mallorca, and she asked Goncarlo to come and be her partner. It was the start of a dazzlingly successful partnership, and Duo Destiny was born. Over the next few years, they performed together in many very successful shows, including Cirque Andrenaline, the Mondial Festival du Cirque de Demain in Paris and the World Cup DAIDOGEI Street Festival in Japan. Then, in 2018 they decided to enter Poland's Got Talent, where they sailed through the auditions and semis finals to become the champions.
Their success led to an invite to appear on the second season of America's Got Talent – The Champions. They were up against extremely stiff competition, such as Marcelito Pomoy but made it to the semi-finals before being eliminated.
Although it hasn't been officially confirmed, it appears that Kinga and Goncarlo are a couple. A Valentine's Day post from Goncarlo reads: "Today, tomorrow, every da
LOVE…love your boyfriend, your girlfriend, your family… but specialy, love YOURSELF 🥰
I love you Kinga, with all my strength… my gypsinha !"
We can only hope that their romantic relationship is as strong and successful as their professional one. Their net worth has not been confirmed, but it is estimated at between $500,000 and $1,000,000. This is not a surprise as they have worked at some of the most prestigious shows over the last few years, including Moulin Rouge and Cirque du Soleil. They also have a solid social media presence. Although they only have 52,000 subscribers to their YouTube channel, the video featured above has been viewed 12 million times!
Their videos all demonstrate their exceptional strength, balance and grace. They are a marvel to witness. Let's keep our fingers crossed for a UK tour some day soon. If you want to see more from this talented dance duo, subscribe to their YouTube channel or follow them on Instagram.
