Dave Grohl Invites Powerhouse 5-Year-Old Drummer To Play At Foo Fighters Gig In Cute Moment

Dave Grohl invited a 5-year-old drummer from the crowd to play onstage at the Foo Fighters show, and it turns out the kid was a monster sticksman! Grohl asked the young fella to come up from the crowd, no doubt expecting a cute moment, but the frontman got more than he bargained for because the kid absolutely crushed his drum solo like a pro!

The special moment happened at the Foo Fighters’ concert at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee. Once he hit the stage, Grohl dubbed the young drummer “Little Fonzie” due to his stylish hair and leather jacket. When you see a kid come out of the crowd to play at a rock show, usually you can expect a few guitar chords or a rock beat, but Little Fonzie wasn’t there to play a backbeat. The kid began a fast and furious drum solo that left Grohl standing with his mouth open in disbelief.

Little Fonzie showed off an impressive command of drum rudiments and ripped around the kit with rapid-fire rolls, and he really laid into the drums with some serious power. He is genuinely a really skilled player and has a good shot at making it as a pro drummer in the future. After the now late Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins stepped out from behind the kit, the band really let the kid cook with a three-minute solo.

The cute moment, which happened at a Foo Fighters show on May 4, 2018, was quite the hit on YouTube. Fan footage of Little Fonzie’s big moment attracted 5.3 million views on the platform. Foo Fighters certainly have some talented fans, as the band scored another viral video when Grohl spontaneously invited 11-year-old Nandi Bushell onstage at The Forum in Los Angeles, California. She then played Foo Fighters hit “Everlong” with the band and knocked it out of the park.

Little Fonzie’s dad hit the stage during the solo, where he proudly watched on and filmed his son’s big moment. Grohl then took a few moments to have a chat with Little Fonzie afterwards, before sending him on his way with the promise of a Coca-Cola from the crew.
Fans loved to see Grohl invite Little Fonzie onstage to rock out, and added comments below the video such as “Thank you Foo Fighters, you just made a young man’s dreams come true. A memory to last his lifetime” and “And this is why Dave is one of my all-time faves in the music industry!”
