Adele has announced that she will be taking a “big break” from music following her upcoming concerts, revealing that she has “no plans for new music at all.” She has a series of 10 concerts scheduled in Germany this August at Munich’s Messe exhibition center, which holds up to 80,000 people. Over the weekend, Adele shared photos of the venue on Instagram, expressing her excitement by writing, “It’s all a bit bloody exciting.”
Her Las Vegas residency, “Weekends With Adele,” which began at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in November 2022, will wrap up in November this year. Adele, 36, discussed her plans with German broadcaster ZDF, indicating that she plans to take an extended break after these shows. Check out her entrance to her 2024 concert in Munich below:
“My tank is quite empty at the minute,” she said, adding, “I don’t have any plans for new music at all.” Adele expressed her desire for a significant hiatus to explore other creative pursuits. The Rolling In The Deep singer has been performing residency every weekend in Las Vegas for the past couple of years and is set to return to Europe next month for her first performances there since 2016 – after this she will be taking a break.
“I want a big break after all this, and I think I want to do other creative things just for a little while,” she said. She also noted, “You know, I don’t even sing at home at all. How strange is that?” Adele shared that she misses her life before fame, particularly the anonymity she once had. “I miss everything about before I was famous, I think probably being anonymous the most,” she said. “I like that I get to make music all the time, whenever I want to, and people are receptive to it and like it. That’s pretty unimaginable. But the fame side of it I absolutely hate.”
Reflecting on her recent performances, Adele acknowledged the emotional intensity of her shows. Despite the relatively small size of Caesar’s Palace, which seats 4,000, she described the experience as deeply moving. “Even though it’s a very manageable size of crowd, it’s really been an emotional exchange,” she said. She anticipates similar feelings after her Munich concerts, describing the emotional connection as a “positive thing” and an “exchange of energy.”
Adele’s debut album, “19,” released in 2008, marked the start of her career, followed by her second album, “21,” in 2011, and “25” in 2015.
