It turns out 11-year-old guitar shredder Bay Melnick Virgolino doesn’t need America’s Got Talent to go viral. The prodigiously talented guitarist and frontman racked up more than a million views with a barnstorming afternoon cut of Led Zeppelin’s “Rock and Roll” in Times Square with his all-star kids’ band. The way the kid can shred like Jimmy Page while rocking the mic like Robert Plant is just crazy. And he has to have some of the best stage presence of any junior performer on the planet.
The Music Man readers may note that Bay had to share the limelight here, because his Only Bay Allstars band were firing on all cylinders. Japanese talent Yoyoka Soma delivered a thunderous John Bonham stomp on the drums. Olivia Catalano, who sang and played guitar, delivered a deliciously raspy vocal while laying down some tasty guitar riffs. The band was rounded out by Jack Lopez, who dropped a satisfying rhythm section rumble with Yoyoka.
You’ll def want to check out Yoyoka’s drumming, which was the perfect way to close out the epic jam.
Bay Melnick Virgolino, who also performs under the name The Only Bay, reached a wider audience with his run on America’s Got Talent in 2025. Bay, who was 10 years old at the time, went viral in a big way with his hard rocking take on Lenny Kravitz’s “Are You Gonna Go My Way”. The way he soared with his vocal melodies while supercharging the guitar parts had the audience on their feet during his audition.
Bay Melnick Virgolino is an 11-year-old guitarist from New York City who competed on season 20 of America’s Got Talent. The Music Man reader may recall that after his audition, he performed Joan Jett & the Blackhearts’ “I Love Rock ‘n’ Roll” and Steppenwolf’s “Born to Be Wild” in the quarterfinals and semifinals respectively.
Bay was eliminated from America’s Got Talent after his semifinals performance. He has since been developing his music career with The Only Bay Allstars.
