Aladdin is an old folk tale most probably of middle eastern origin which was created into a Disney movie in 1992. So how did they bring Aladdin and his magic carpet to life? The team behind this elaborate illusion used an electrically powered “boasted” skate board with a frame fixed on top. Aladdin travelled around New York City and captured lots of attention from the public.

The magic carpet video was captured in New York city and has received over 30 million views on YouTube since it was uploaded in 2015. There was a lot of preparation before this video could be made and the creators, Jesse and Casey Neistat, made a video explaining the build process.

In the video below they walk you through how they made the magic board and what their process was for getting the necessary permissions to film such a high profile stunt.

Jesse is the man dressed as Aladdin on the board. He has a YouTube channel with over 10 million followers.
