When This School Orchestra Played The Iconic Jurassic Park Theme By John Williams, 13 Million Viewers Could Not Get Enough!

This school orchestra played a gorgeous version of one of the greatest blockbuster themes of all time, and 13 million viewers could not get enough of it! Zebrowski Music School Orchestra played John Williams’ iconic “Theme From Jurassic Park,” and the youngsters played the most bold and beautiful version of the famous theme. There was one special quirk about the performance which no doubt helped it go so viral.

Just after the four-minute mark, a student in a blow-up T-rex suit appeared at the front of the stage and began ‘conducting’ the performance with gusto. The T-rex guy truly loved his work and really milked the performance for all it was worth – and props to the kids for not losing it and laughing out loud when he appeared.

The real conductor for the performance was Zygmunt Nitkiewicz, and the full name for the group is the Symphony Orchestra of the Józef Marcin Żebrowski Music School in Częstochowa, Poland. I can see why they used an abbreviated form of their name in the title though! The performance attracted 13 million views on the Akademia Filmu i Telewizji YouTube channel, which places it among the most popular classical performances on the entire platform.

Music fans loved to hear the theme performed by the students and added comments such as “This orchestra is so impressive. It is difficult to believe that they are music students, not professionals. Fantastic!” and “They played one of John Williams’s great masterpieces and surprisingly DIDN’T LAUGH at that T-rex. Dude, sign all those kids up for the London Symphony Orchestra already.” Another popular version of the theme was captured when John Williams conducted the Vienna Philharmonic.

John Williams composed and conducted the entire Jurassic Park: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack. The original soundtrack release featured 16 tracks, although there have been three expanded editions released since the original 1993 album release.
“Theme From Jurassic Park” is without a doubt the most famous theme from the soundtrack. The melodic motif is initially heard when the visitors see the Brachiosaurus for the first time and is the most frequently heard motif throughout the movie.
Williams told Total Film that creating the soundtrack was “a rugged, noisy effort – a massive job of symphonic cartooning.” The great American composer noted that while trying to “match the rhythmic gyrations of the dinosaurs,” he created “these kind of funny ballets.”
