Unitree’s dancing robots and dancer Yufei Wu were the surprise breakout stars of America’s Got Talent 2026, and their highly anticipated return to the AGT stage did NOT disappoint. On their viral sophomore appearance, they mixed traditional Chinese culture and martial arts with the latest cutting-edge technology. Yufei Wu went big this time, performing a tightly choreographed routine with a team of dancers.
This ensemble approach was a great way to bring Unitree’s stage show to the next level, as their first appearance featured Yufei as the only human dancer. The integration of traditional Chinese martial arts was likewise inspired, bringing in another discipline beyond dance. Unitree’s new direction won them their first Golden Buzzer moment on America’s Got Talent, courtesy of Sofía Vergara. The Music Man has to say that Yufei and his team’s ecstatic celebration in response was too adorable.
Unitree made their second appearance on America’s Got Talent on September 8, 2026, and the official clip drew more than 1 million views.
Unitree’s America’s Got Talent debut was an instant classic, drawing 5.8 million views. Outside of Thai teen sensation Nene Royal’s biggest performances, it was one of the most-viewed clips of the 2026 season on AGT’s official YouTube channel. Yufei Wu danced to Lady Gaga’s “Abracadabra,” dropping some sizzling moves that were tightly integrated with moves from eight Unitree robots. The humanoid dance act stood out, and the audition made international headlines as a result.
Despite the huge success of Unitree’s audition on America’s Got Talent, they didn’t get a Golden Buzzer after their debut performance. Perhaps the judges didn’t understand what a huge impact the performance would go on to make.
The Music Man readers won’t be surprised to hear that Heidi Klum was impressed by Unitree’s second performance, saying “I am literally gobsmacked. I have never seen anything this crazy in my life. It is absolutely mind-blowing.” She added that the future is a “little scary, but it’s amazing what you guys have done.”
Sofía Vergara decided that Unitree had hit the spot with their second appearance. The actress kept the tension in the room for a moment, saying the robots “were a little bit scary”. She then changed tack, called the team “amazing” and hit the Golden Buzzer.
