Teddy Swims showed up on American Idol rocking a pink suit and put on a performance of his hit song “Lose Control” which showed the vocal quality this man processes.

Born Jaten Collin Dimsdale, he adopted the Teddy Swims alias in 2019, which was partly a reference to a nickname from his childhood, while also being an acronym for “someone who isn’t me sometimes”. Before long, he received a tour invite to open up for Tyler Carter after being asked by his friend in 2019 to rap over some beats. This was the moment Swims would become a star.
