As some Music Man readers out there may already be aware, Terry Miles is a well-known boogie-woogie pianist, with a successful YouTube channel that frequently features videos of him busking in public places, and often being joined by some unexpected guests. In fact, it’s these guests that make his videos so entertaining, because you never know who is going to show up at the piano next.
This concept is particularly pertinent in relation to one of his most popular uploads, which has over two million views on YouTube alone. In the video, Miles and a fellow pianist are happily tearing through a lively boogie-woogie number, which is nothing out of the ordinary for Miles. Then, something interesting happens.
A woman in green suddenly appears in the background. At first, she looks like she might simply join the crowd of people who have gathered to watch the performance, but soon she starts edging closer to the piano and eventually begins to join in with the two musicians! She doesn’t hang about either; she really gets stuck in and shows that she too has some insane boogie woogie piano playing talent before disappearing mysteriously into the crowd just as quickly as she arrived.
Of course, as described earlier in this article, this is not the first time Terry Miles has been joined by an unexpected guest during one of his performances. The video below is a perfect example, showing a 12-year-old girl called Betsy who joins him on vocals for a cover of ‘Blueberry Hill’. It is, however, one of the first times that no one has been able to find out the name of the guest who joined Terry, with her identity still remaining a mystery online.
In fact, for fans of Terry Miles’ YouTube channel, the question on their lips right now is ‘who was this mysterious lady?’ Was she simply a talented stranger who wanted to remain anonymous, or was there more to her appearance than meets the eye? We may never find out the answers to these questions for sure, but what we do know is that this lady is more than just a little bit talented.
Terry Miles’s impromptu street boogie and that mysteriously talented woman make for unforgettable viewing — no wonder the clip has millions of views.
