Selena Gomez Sings With Hospital Patient Julia In Truly Emotive Video

When Selena Gomez visited patients at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, she proved to scores of fans that she is as kind and thoughtful as she is talented! In this clip from her visit, she performed an impromptu rendition of her smash hit ‘Who Says’ with a young heart patient called Julia, showcasing her stunning vocal talents while Julia accompanied her on guitar.

From the moment Selena starts to sing along with Julia’s guitar playing, you can tell that this special moment meant the world to both of them, with a huge grin remaining on Julia’s face throughout, and Selena often turning to the young patient to encourage and support her as she played. “That was so good!” Selena tells her after the song has finished, as the pair share a sweet smile with each other and the watching audience members erupt into applause.

The performance was filmed, meanwhile, alongside radio show host and television presenter Ryan Seacrest, who was at the hospital to launch its second closed-circuit media center called ‘The Voice’. Selena was invited along as one of his guests, and although no one expected her to do a performance while she was there, she absolutely nailed her rendition with Julia, clearly making the young patient incredibly happy in the process.

Two years prior to her visit to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, Selena had also visited the Children’s Medical Center of Dallas, where she met a patient called Elizabeth Cortez who treated the singer to a beautiful vocal rendition. Elizabeth had been sadly diagnosed with a rare neurological condition that causes inflammation of the spine, causing her to be paralyzed, and as she sings to Selena it’s clear that the opportunity to meet her “favourite celebrity” means the absolute world to her.
