When this big YouTuber set up to busk in London, one shy nine-year-old girl stole the WHOLE show with her soulful take on “Die With a Smile.” Young Rose-May was out shopping with her mum when she accepted an invitation to sing with Luke Silva. The schoolgirl needed a little reassurance by looking at the lyrics on a phone, but when it came to the singing – no help was needed whatsoever! Rose-May just sang like a bird on the Bruno Mars and Lady Gaga hit, stunning 2.4 million viewers.
Rose-May crushed it from Lady Gaga’s opening line in the second verse. Just that opening wordless melody alone was goosebumps-worthy, and it just kept getting better from there. Little Rose-May sang like a superstar and brought the busy London street to a standstill. The Music Man has to say that she not only has the range but also brought such a distinctive style and musicality that is way beyond her years!
Luke uploaded his duet with Rose-May to YouTube on August 15, 2025, where it soon went viral. Fans were mighty impressed and added comments such as “She’s seriously gifted! I can’t believe that voice came out of her. Incredible!” and “She not only has a beautiful voice, but above all, she possesses extraordinary sensitivity and musical maturity. She sings so perfectly that you can lose yourself in her singing. And that doesn’t happen often in mature vocalists, let alone a nine-year-old!”
Rose-May recently showed off her vocal skills with a run on the X Factor Kids Albania. In her most popular performance on the show, she sang the traditional Albanian folk tune “Dardha”. She then followed it up at 3:19 with an a cappella rendition of Billie Eilish and Khalid’s hit “Lovely”. It sure ain’t easy to sing a cappella like that, but it’s all in a day’s work for Rose-May.
Luke Silva often sings with talented strangers on his YouTube channel. However, he doesn’t duet with kids all that much – I guess it’s hard to find youngsters who can perform at that level on the spot. The Music Man has to say Rose-May definitely delivered the goods with her performance. As a result, she became the most viral junior performer to appear on Luke’s channel over the past 12 months. Rose-May also has her own YouTube channel, @Rosemay2015. She has uploaded six performances there, across videos and shorts. However, she hasn’t uploaded much there recently.
