Queen’s last ever filmed show with Freddie Mercury finally revealed in 4K glory – this cut of “Radio Ga Ga” is absolutely euphoric, and the crowd was on point for this one!

On July 27, 2026, Queen revealed the long-awaited 4K, 4:3 aspect ratio version of their final filmed concert with Freddie Mercury. The English rockers dropped a thrilling cut of their bop “Radio Ga Ga,” and Freddie is in fiery form here. There’s a reason why he’s considered to be the greatest frontman of all time, and this July 27, 1986, concert in Budapest, Hungary, shows exactly why. Freddie is like a force of nature with his passionate live vocals and completely effortless X-factor.

The band was really kicking out the jams here on drummer Roger Taylor’s catchy hit. Roger’s slithering beat combines so satisfyingly with John Deacon’s bass groove and Brian May’s melodic guitar lines. The Music Man has to say the classic lineup of Queen had one of the greatest vocal lines in rock ‘n’ roll – those harmonies are epic. And the crowd really turned up here. Seeing them hit the claps in unison in the chorus is really satisfying.

When Queen uploaded the “Radio Ga Ga” performance, it hit 1.1 million views in a week. Fans loved to see the high-quality release of the iconic moment in Queen history and added comments such as “We finally got the 4:3 aspect ratio version in 4K!! Probably the best concert film of Queen in terms of the colour and edit” and “The quality is so good to the extent I feel like I’m a part of the audience in real time!!”

Queen fans have been blessed with a number of great remasters of classic Queen moments. Another popular recent release was a remaster of Live Aid 1985. Fan channel Queen4K dropped the remaster of the full 25-minute concert in 2025. I’ve watched this concert many times, but watching Freddie work the crowd and deliver those incredible vocals never gets old.

The Music Man readers might be interested to hear that Queen’s concert on July 27, 1986, at the Népstadion in Budapest, Hungary, is notable for a number of reasons. As well as being Freddie’s final filmed concert, it was also the first major Western rock concert to be held behind the Iron Curtain.
Freddie’s final live concert was held on August 9, 1986, at Knebworth Park in England. This was also the final concert of the 1986 Magic Tour. However, the owner of Knebworth Castle, Henry Lytton Cobbold, said that “nobody remembered” to film it professionally. Only scraps of footage from the Knebworth concert remain, making the Népstadion in Budapest the final professionally shot Queen concert.
