Pink’s Show Stopping Live Duet With Bastille’s Dan Smith “Just Give Me A Reason” Is Everything!

A big part of Pink’s longevity in the industry is her ability to command the stage like nobody’s business, and she definitely had the stage on lock at her Brit Awards performance of “Just Give Me a Reason” with Bastille’s Dan Smith. Pink had an international smash hit with her duet with Nate Ruess on the ballad, but Smith really brought his own flavor to the live version of the song, making for an epic performance!

Pink engaged the crowd from the first line, and you could tell she was really putting her heart into the performance. The crowd was picking up on this vibe and enthusiastically sang the vocals back to her on cue. Pink was already slaying when she sang the first chorus solo, but Smith dropping the second verse really brought the song to the next level. Smith didn’t try to replicate Ruess’s approach and just totally reinvented the part in his own style, which made the performance really special.

Pink and Smith have pretty different vibes musically, but the strange brew of them working together definitely cooked up something tasty. Make sure to check out Smith really going all out towards the end, adding some R&B-styled lines as well as a big falsetto climax. The moment after that when Smith bowed to Pink and the pair warmly embraced was a really sweet way to end the song. Fans tuned in big time online and the 2019 Brit Awards performance attracted four million views on YouTube.
