25 million viewers spellbound as random singer who calls himself “Nobody” spontaneously collabs with busker Døvydas, dropping epic soul power vocals on “Tennessee Whiskey”

Busker Døvydas giggled nervously, saying, “Someone requested ‘Tennessee Whiskey’, so I’m gonna try to fake that one.” This isn’t looking good, but a mystery man calls out from the crowd, “I can sing it.” Right then and there, magic happens, and the two musicians capture lightning in a bottle that 25 million viewers still aren’t over. As soon as the singer opens his mouth, shoppers send up a cheer.

The mystery man, who calls himself “Nobody,” has the honeyed, soul power voice of a legendary crooner, and his voice combines with Døvydas’s creative one-man looping arrangement to create a moment of amazing chemistry. Someone needs to get this guy a record deal, because to sing with that kind of soul, completely unrehearsed and with a guitarist you just met, shows the kind of talent that should be on stadium stages instead of street corners.

Døvydas has a number of viral videos from his street performances, but there was something special captured in the “Tennessee Whiskey” cover that made it become far and away his most popular upload. Viewers gave plenty of love for the duo and added comments such as “This is the power of music. Two strangers pouring their souls into a song to simply bring joy to people watching. What a pure moment in time” and “Wow! What a voice! That guy needs to give the world that voice. His highs and lows are spectacular!”

Although we don’t hear it in the “Tennessee Whiskey” cover, it turns out Døvydas has a killer voice too. In another viral performance that he gave at the same busking spot, Døvydas played Jimi Hendrix’s version of “All Along the Watchtower” after a shopper’s request. The guitarist hits all the right notes with his smoky take on the vocals, and there’s a whole lot of fretboard fireworks to enjoy here as well.
