Myles Frost is the King of Pop reborn in electrifying performance of “Beat It” from MJ the Musical

The King of Pop is back! Myles Frost is the spitting image of Michael Jackson in this flawless live performance of “Beat It” from MJ the Musical. Frost has the whole package – the voice, those iconic moves, and the swag to pull it all off like a boss. In the Broadway musical, he leads a tight dance routine for the 1982 classic, and the energy that the Maryland star brings to the table really makes it a joy to watch.

Jackson’s moves are so distinctive, and you can really tell Frost has put in the hard yards to properly pay tribute to the pop legend’s style on stage. It’s also a huge task to make those moves while singing live, but Frost is all over it. It’s been 15 years since Jackson passed, but it’s lovely to see his legacy continued with such powerful performances. The Music Man readers will definitely want to tune into the big climax at the Eddie Van Halen solo in the bridge, as it’s a great spectacle to watch.

The MJ the Musical channel uploaded Frost’s performance of “Beat It” on May 5, 2022, and it has since drawn 1.4 million views on the platform. Fans really vibed to the stage show, and added comments such as “I took the family two weeks ago. Quite possibly the best Broadway show we’ve ever seen. Myles Frost and the entire team are absolutely amazing! A must-see for all MJ fans!” and “This young man has Michael down to a tee! I am so very impressed! Got me feeling like a schoolgirl all over again.”

MJ the Musical has produced several viral videos on YouTube. Frost and co scored another million-view video with their performance of “Smooth Criminal.” I suspect it won’t surprise The Music Man readers to hear that Frost crushes it, and seeing him take on different eras of the King of Pop really shows how much he has mastered the role. You’ve gotta give it up to the band and backup dancers as well, as the whole production really pops.

MJ the Musical premiered on Broadway on December 6, 2021, and it’s still running on Broadway and the West End as of January 2025. The musical was a huge hit, grossing 230 million dollars as of November 27, 2024. This has made it one of the highest-grossing musicals of all time, which really shows how much demand there is for Jackson’s music still.
