If you’ve ever heard the Little Mix track ‘Secret Love Song’ you will know that it is not an easy song to sing. But when Filipino singer Morissette performed a live version of the track for Philippine radio station Wish 107.5, she made it look like the easiest thing in the world, effortlessly hitting jaw-dropping high notes and adding her own unique vocal improvisations.
The video has since gone viral, becoming the most popular video on the radio station’s channel with a whopping 229 MILLION views! And when you hear this performance for yourself, Music Man readers, you will understand why – we will be very surprised if you have ever heard a better cover version of this song.
Perhaps the best part of the cover is the emotion that Morissette adds to it, singing every word as though it means something very special to her, or as though she wrote the song herself about her own life. Viewers have also been amazed that she can manage to deliver such powerful and emotional vocals while sitting down – imagine how stunning she would sound if she were standing up and giving the rendition 100 percent of her energy!
Another of the Wish radio station’s most popular videos, meanwhile, also features Morissette, this time singing a version of Phil Collins’ iconic 1980s track ‘Against All Odds.’ Morissette is very much channeling Mariah Carey in this video, who also recorded a version of the track that was released as a single in 2000.
I absolutely adore Morissette’s voice, Music Man readers, so to hear her showcasing her vocal talents in these videos is an absolute treat. The singer’s version of ‘Secret Love Song’ is particularly impressive and well worth your time if you want to hear an amazing singer put her own stamp on an iconic 2010s pop song.
Morissette’s rendition of ‘Secret Love Song’ is a testament to her exceptional talent and emotional depth, making her an artist to watch.
