If you haven’t heard of jazz fusion group Moon Hooch before, we can only surmise you’ve been living under a rock for the last few years, because these guys have blown up numerous times online over the past few years. One video in particular that the internet went crazy for showed the band performing a spontaneous rendition while stuck in a traffic jam in France. The really cool part? The musician leading the band was playing a saxophone with a huge traffic cone stuck in the end!
With over two million views on YouTube alone, the jam starts with the saxophonist standing on the roof of the band’s van, traffic cone in tow, improvising a spontaneous solo. Already, people in the cars surrounding them are starting to look interested, taking pictures from their windows or getting out of their vehicles to have a closer look at what is going on.
Next comes the really cool part, where the band comes together and actually walks through the traffic jam whilst playing an incredibly funky tune. Led by the musician playing the saxophone with the traffic cone, he is joined by another saxophonist, as well as two percussionists, who elevate the performance to the next level with their drumming talents.
