Acoustic or electric guitar? It’s something every young guitarist has asked themselves at least once, but it took the incredible talents of Marcin and Ichika Nito to answer it in their brilliant viral video “Acoustic vs Electric Guitar.” After hearing the Polish and Japanese guitar sensations duke it out on the collab, fans had to agree that the winner was our ears! Marcin Patrzałek opened the performance with a mind-blowing display of prowess on his acoustic guitar, while reeling off beautiful melodies.
Nito then joined the fray on his electric, playing ethereal clean melodies before switching up to an overdriven tone and delivering a mind-bending shred – all done in his ambient style. The Music Man has to say that the magic of the collab is that Marcin and Nito’s styles are so different, but meld together into a performance of great beauty. Marcin, despite playing acoustic, is actually the more aggressive of the two due to his percussive style, while Nito delivers gorgeous, chill lo-fi vibes on his electric.
Marcin uploaded his collab with Nito to his YouTube channel, where it became one of his biggest hits, drawing 5.1 million views. Fans declared the unlikely duo’s chemistry to be magnetic, adding comments such as “Fire and ice. Can’t stop listening. Please make an album” and “It’s crazy how much their styles differ, but how good they sound together.”
Despite living half the world away, Marcin and Nito have found the chance to do a number of collaborative videos together. The pair teamed up for a guitar duel on Grover Washington Jr. and Bill Withers’ soul classic “Just the Two of Us.” The pair played together in a Japanese tea room while reeling off spicy licks on the 5.7 million view upload. Nito always impresses with his ability to melt faces while also retaining a beautiful melodic sensibility, and Marcin’s finger-style playing here is just gorgeous.
Nito and Marcin are two of the biggest YouTubers in the guitar world, with the guitarists boasting 2.7 million and 1.9 million subscribers on the platform, respectively. Marcin debuted the acoustic vs. electric video with Nito on April 5, 2022. It was not only the first time he collaborated with Nito, but also Marcin’s first-ever collaboration with another artist on his YouTube channel. Nito and Marcin have since issued several more videos together, including their single release “I Don’t Write About Girls,” which Marcin hosted the official video for on his channel.
