Luke Combs made country music history when he headlined Lollapalooza, and he just had to call in a favor from the breakout star who dropped the biggest song of the year to make his set really hit the stratosphere. “Ordinary” is such a banger already, but when you have Luke Combs singing those iconic melodies with a voice as big as the North Carolina plains, it just goes to the next level. After the opening verse, Alex Warren himself hit the stage, and 18 million fans still aren’t over the duet.

There’s no doubt that Luke’s choice to pick “Ordinary” was very inspired, as his voice is just perfect for it. From 2:40 onwards, when the two stars started harmonizing, the chemistry was just off the charts. Many viewers said it’s time for Luke to drop his own version of “Ordinary”, as there’s no question that he’d have a hit with it. The Music Man has to say this duet was an instant classic Lollapalooza moment!

Luke uploaded the “Ordinary” duet to his YouTube channel on August 4, 2025, and it soon became his third-most popular live performance. Viewers were stoked on the collab, and added comments such as “Luke sounds just incredible here. He sings it better than the guy who wrote it. Wild talent.” and “Love to see how Luke is obviously a fan.” Viewers also loved the perfectly timed fist bump at 1:16 that the singers hit on the beat of the verse.

Alex has had a number of opportunities to share his breakout hit on the big stage over the past 12 months. One of his most high-profile performances yet is his cut of “Ordinary,” which he performed at the 2026 BRIT Awards. James Blunt, sitting in to provide the piano part while Manchester’s Hallé Orchestra provided a lush backing, made the performance such a special version of the megahit.

Luke’s headlining set at Lollapalooza in Chicago on July 31, 2025, made history, as he was the first country artist to ever headline the festival. Luke performed a 20-song set at his Lollapalooza appearance. The country star performed “Ordinary” with Alex as the 14th song. The Music Man readers might be interested to hear that Luke actually performed three songs with the California star during the set. Alex stayed on stage to sing “She Got the Best of Me” and “Lovin’ on You” with the headliner. Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem that pro shot versions of these two songs made it to YouTube.
