This group of professional broadway singers transformed the commuting experience for many when they took the opportunity to rehearse on the New York City Subway. Watch the professional singers perform “The Lion King” in the video below.
Broadway Cast of The Lion King
During a break between shows, the Broadway Cast of “The Lion King” took over a New York City (NYC) subway giving the riders that day a free ticket to their super successful show.
Each year the New York City subway is estimated to have served over 1 billion riders and in 2013 The Lion King became the first show to hit $1 billion. As a gesture to their city, and the people that served their show so well, the cast decided to put on this impromptu performance.
“Broadway’s Tony Award-winning musical comes to life 8 times a week in the heart of Times Square at The Minskoff Theater.”
The lead vocals come from Rema Webb, the first male soloist comes from Sibusiso Ngema and the second male soloist comes from Mduduzi Madela-Duma.
A lucky surprise for those who were traveling that day and a wonderful moment caught on camera for all of us to remember forever.
