Los Angeles-based metal band Liliac jump off the page for many reasons. The idea of a family band usually brings to mind memories of the Jackson 5 or even more recent groups like Kings Of Leon. But Liliac really buck the trend by having members ranging from the ages of 12 to 21 – with their all-sibling line-up coming in with some major energy!
The video below shows the Cristea family taking on the Metallica hit Enter Sandman and their mix of high octane performance and clear skill on their instruments really captures the magic of the original track. With over 11 million views of their performance on YouTube – the general public seem to be digging their psychedelic cover of this classic.
They're not just a cover band either. In 2020, after several EP releases, they dropped their official debut album – with their father stepping in on production duties for their hook-heavy studio release 'Queen Of Hearts'.

The resulting album is a hard-hitting, punchy effort that takes the energy of their covers and refines it into a selection of tracks that instantly makes you understand why they describe their own style as 'vamp-metal' and why their audience have been so captivated with them.
Lead vocalist and bassist Melody cites Ronnie James Dio as a major hero of her's – describing her first exposure to the former Rainbow and Black Sabbath singer as a moment that changed her life forever. The riffery of Sam, their lead guitarist, and drummer Aby provide grooves that power each number. And even though the second guitarist Ethan and their keyboardist Justin are barely in their teenage years, they still have a huge part to play. Check out their single 'Queen Of Hearts' below:
It's clear to see that rock is most certainly not dead – and with bands like Liliac making a major name for themselves in the LA scene, only time will tell just how far they can go!
