Watch Liam Payne’s Incredible X Factor Audition That Made Him A Star

Following the really sad news that Liam Payne unfortunately lost his life in Buenos Aires, Argentina, his X Factor audition has resurfaced as fans pay tribute to the singer.

In 2008, Payne first auditioned for “The X Factor” at age 14, performing “Fly Me to the Moon.” However, he was sent home after getting through to Simon Cowell’s mansion. Simon encouraged him to return in two years. In 2010, Payne did just that and auditioned again, performing “Cry Me a River.” The judges formed the boy band One Direction with Payne, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan, and Zayn Malik who all auditioned that year. The band placed third in the competition but signed with Cowell’s Syco Entertainment – no one could have known how successful the band would end up becoming.

Liam Payne, former member of One Direction, has died at age 31 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He was found dead after falling from the third-floor balcony of his hotel room at CasaSur in Palermo, according to local police. Witnesses reported Payne had been acting erratically earlier in the day.
