Taking to the interview couch on Little Big Shots Australia, guitar balanced in her lap, adorable 12-year-old Li-sa-X spoke to the presenter Shane Jacobson about her playing. The young Japanese guitarist charmed the audience as she explained that she had been playing the guitar for six years, wanted to be in a band when she grew up, and loved ACDC. In a short preview of her skills, she played Back In Black by ACDC, which is sure to astound Music Man readers. However, the best was still to come.
Lit up with moody blue lighting, Li-sa-X finally took to the stage with her guitar, and no one in the audience was quite prepared for what would come next. The 12-year-old performed a shred guitar solo that sounded as though a professional metal guitarist could have performed it, as her fingers moved at lightning speed along the fretboard. Online viewers were stunned by the video, which has now reached over 1M views, commenting, “I can not believe my eyes and ears!! Pure genius.”
Since her appearance on Little Big Shots, Li-sa-X has achieved her dream of being in a rock band. Forming her very own group, she was the guitarist for the Li-sa-X Band up until their split in 2022. Now 19 years old, Li-sa-X has continued her musical career and is now part of a band called Koiai. Made up of members Kotono on vocals, Hazuki on bass, Kanade Sato on drums, and, of course, Li-sa-X on guitar, Koiai has been making waves in the Japanese metal scene.
The music video for Koiai’s most recent release, ‘Come See Me’, was unveiled to the public only last week and has already received over 50K views. The music video shows each member of the band rocking out in front of a dark and atmospheric backdrop. The track, of course, features a face-melting guitar solo from Li-sa-X, which will prove to Music Man readers that it is still impossible to listen to her playing without being blown away by her musical talent.
Here at The Music Man, we love seeing a child prodigy. However, what we love to see even more is a child prodigy that develops their talent, follows their passions, and achieves their dreams. Not only has Li-sa-X continued playing guitar, improving on the impressive talent that she displayed at only 12 years old, but she has also achieved her dream of being in a rock band herself. With Koiai already proving popular in the Japanese rock scene, there is no telling where Li-sa-X’s unbelievable guitar talent might take her next.
