This nine-year-old is already a rap god! Texas talent King Moore knocked America’s Got Talent for six with his bombastic rap routine by delivering his original song “Pen Game” on June 25, 2025. The youngster wrote the bop when he was just five years old and soon went viral for his king-sized confidence. After a chaotic intro interview, King showed his impressive command of the stage by telling the crowd to get on their feet, and then launching into his rap as the audience clapped to the beat.
The Music Man has to say that this kid sure got rhymes! King showed off his songwriting talent with some catchy verses delivered with a truckload of braggadocio. The youngster had the audience eating out of the palm of his hand as he confidently prowled the stage. Many fans’ favorite part was seeing the third grader’s biggest fan, his dad, absolutely loving seeing King crush it out there. With such a killer performance under his belt, King naturally breezed his way to 4 big yes votes by the end of his audition.
King’s audition was a smash hit online, where it drew 1.3 million views in three days. Fans were duly impressed by his bold performance and added comments such as “He is very brilliant and absolutely fantastic! I loved it when his dad leaped up with delight and pride!” and “This KING has more confidence and talent in his pinkie finger than I can ever imagine having in my entire body!!! Congrats to him!”
It might not surprise The Music Man readers to hear that King’s America’s Got Talent appearance is not the first time the young rapper has gone viral. King is kind of a big deal on YouTube, where he has uploaded six videos with more than a million views. The youngster’s biggest hit online to date is his song “ABC,” which features him rapping over the riff from The Jackson 5’s breakout hit “I Want You Back.” The school-themed clip has four million views to date and features King’s signature brash style.
While King has a mature persona when rapping, he went straight back to being a chuffed schoolboy at the end of his AGT audition when he saw the whole room give him a standing ovation. Mel B opened the judges’ comments by saying “You are amazing, absolutely amazing. You have so much swag, rhythm, and confidence. Brilliant!” All the judges agreed, and no doubt we’ll see some more fiery performances from King on AGT moving forward.
