Rock Band Heavysaurus Leave Simon Cowell With His Jaw On The Floor

Everyone knows that Britain’s Got Talent loves a novelty act, and never has that been more true than for dino-themed rock band Heavysaurus. When the five-piece band walked onstage to do their audition dressed in huge dinosaur costumes, refusing to answer questions about who they were or where they were from, it seemed that nobody knew what to think about them, but once they started playing, it quickly became clear that there was more to these dinos than meets the eye.

Headbanging their way through excerpts of classic rock tracks by the likes of Queen and Bon Jovi, the crowd went absolutely crazy for the band, getting up on their feet and singing along to the much-loved hits they were performing. The judges also seemed to have been swayed by the group’s rocking performance, with Heavysaurus getting four yeses and consequently going straight through to the next round of the competition.

Whilst the band opted not to say anything about themselves at their actual audition – presumably to add to the prehistoric aura that surrounded them – a quick Internet search will tell you everything you need to know about Heavysaurus. It turns out that they are actually an adaptation of a band who originally hailed from Finland and was formed in 2009. A version of the band has also previously appeared on Spain’s Got Talent, making these guys talent show veterans!

If you find yourself even more intrigued after reading about the history of Heavysaurus (I know I am), then you might want to check out some of the original group’s own music, which includes this track from 2011 called ‘Räyh!’. The track is essentially a metal track for kids, and it really shows just how popular metal and its sub-genres are in Scandinavian countries.

Heavysaurus might come off like a novelty act, Music Man readers, but a little bit of deeper reading will show you that they are actually incredibly talented musicians who come from a long line of Heavysaurus metal bands. They are one of my personal favourite acts in this season of BGT, and I can’t wait to see what they pull out of the bag in the next stage of the competition!

Heavysaurus has taken Britain’s Got Talent by storm with their dino-rock novelty act, leaving both the audience and judges in awe. The band’s iconic covers and enigmatic presence have solidified their status as rockstars with a prehistoric twist. Ready to rock their way through the competition, Heavysaurus is undoubtedly a band to watch. To discover more about this dino-mite band and their amusing history, check out the useful links below.
