Grace-Miller Moody took one helluva big risk singing Maroon 5’s “Sunday Morning” for her The Voice 2025 audition. After all, with Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine sitting right there, you absolutely gotta bring your A-game! The talented 20-year-old also took the risk of completely revamping the song, performing it in a classy, retro jazz style. Luckily for the college student, her effortlessly soulful voice was just undeniable.
“Sunday Morning” called for a chill, romantic vibe, and Grace-Miller was just the lady for the job. The Charleston, South Carolina native’s fresh, smooth voice instantly melted the judges’ hearts, and before she even hit that iconic chorus, she had turned all four chairs. The chorus had never sounded so buttery as when Grace-Miller sang it, and by that point, she had the judges eating out of the palm of her hand. In The Music Man’s book, Grace-Miller just dropped one of the highlights of the whole season!
Evidently, Grace-Miller is a big Maroon 5 fan, but Levine wasn’t going to give her points for that alone. Somewhat surprisingly, it was Michael Bublé who turned first for the young talent, and Levine actually turned last out of all four judges for his own song, after allowing her effortless soul vibe to win him over. There was a sweet moment at the end when Grace-Miller’s proud family hit the stage to give her some support as she chose her coach. No points for guessing who she picked – of course it was Levine.
Fans were loving Grace-Miller’s voice and natural command of the stage, and added comments such as “Wow, I’m blown away at how effortlessly she sings with so much soul. This is one of the best auditions I’ve seen in the last 6 years” and “Never seen someone so unique and talented like her on The Voice.” Grace-Miller shared a different side to her in the knockouts round, when she performed a smouldering rendition of Fleetwood Mac’s “Dreams,” this time showing off the husky side to her voice.
Grace-Miller, who is a College of Charleston student, came out strong with her blind audition. The Music Man readers might not be surprised to hear she quickly became a fan favorite, gaining one million views on her The Voice debut on YouTube. She continued her run with a win in the battles round while performing Kings of Leon’s “Use Somebody” alongside Tori Templet. Grace-Miller then moved to the knockouts, where she performed “Dreams,” although she did not progress past this round.
