When Italian-Brazilian singer Luke Silva took to the streets to perform a cover of Whitney Houston’s ‘I Have Nothing’, his voice alone was enough to blow the minds of the huge crowd watching. Elevating the rendition to another level, however, was the voice of Filipino singer Julia Serad, who delivered jaw-dropping vocals alongside Luke as if it were the easiest thing in the world!
A whopping eleven and a half MILLION people have watched this performance to date, proving just how much Luke and Julia’s voices have captured the hearts of viewers around the world. Luke kicks the performance off, with his surprisingly high, soaring vocals prompting cheers from the crowd. But it’s Julia who leaves the crowd stunned, her effortless vocals sounding almost as flawless as Whitney’s on the original recording.
Viewers have been particularly amazed by how casually Julia delivers her parts of the song, hitting incredible high notes and belting out vocal runs as though it requires no effort at all. “And she wears a shoulder bag and is holding a cell phone. Flawless!” reads one of the video’s most popular comments, whilst another remarked how the singer made it look easy to match Whitney’s vocal abilities.
Luke himself also looks amazed by Julia’s talents throughout the course of the video, although given the number of talented female singers he has recorded videos with over the years, perhaps he shouldn’t look so shocked! Check out the video below, for instance, which shows him covering the Adele track ‘Someone Like You’ alongside another unique vocalist, Emilie Cunliffe.
I truly love Luke Silva’s videos, Music Man readers; he seems to have such a knack for bringing out the best in the singers he duets with. My favorite video of all time on his channel, however, is undoubtedly the one he filmed with Julia Serad, who makes singing like Whitney Houston look like a walk in the park.
