It’s crazy how much talent is out there that you never hear on the radio! London-based busker Luke Silva proved that with this heartfelt duet on Coldplay’s “Yellow” with Scottish singer Andrew Duncan. Silva kicked off the iconic hit with a yearning vocal part while Duncan held it down on acoustic guitar. Silva added an R&B touch to the vocal lines, providing a unique take on the song.
Duncan got to shine next when he took the lead vocal on the chorus, and what a beautiful and clear voice he has. At first, Silva doubled the vocals for the chorus, and then Duncan took the following verse solo. The Music Man readers no doubt have heard the hit many times over the years, but this fresh take from these two talented buskers really puts a new spin on the classic, and they scored a viral video for their trouble.
Silva uploaded the cover on February 8, 2024, where it gained 2.3 million views. Fans were mighty impressed with what the duo delivered and added comments such as “Okay – goosebumps! Love this! I love that you invite people to sing with you and seem to blend so well with everyone” and “Give it up for the street performers that do it for free and the love of music. The world needs a lot more of these kinds of souls.”
