When Ed Sheeran appeared on Spanish TV, no one expected it to go down like this! The English star dropped a legendary jam with beatboxer Grison when he appeared on the talk show La Revuelta on June 3, 2025. The spicy collab was all the more impressive as it was 100% unrehearsed! The surprise collab came about when Sheeran was showing how his looping setup worked, and the host suggested Grison jam with Sheeran. Grison was up for the challenge, and laid down a beatboxing part that sounded like a DJ scratching vinyl.
Sheeran looped Grison’s part with his setup, then laid down a breezy acoustic guitar riff over the top. Sheeran then worked his magic by rapping his old school single “Don’t” over the beat, while Grison continued to freestyle some flourishes here and there. The pair showed off some impeccable chemistry in cooking up such a spicy beat on the spot, and it’s the kind of freewheeling vibe that’ll def put a smile on your dial! The Music Man has to say this is yet another reminder that Teddy can do anything!
A fan upload of the live TV jam proved to be popular on YouTube, hitting six figures on the platform within a week. Viewers were loving the collab, and added comments such as “I find it incredible that they managed to make this sound like this without rehearsing. Both of them performed just right to make it pop” and “What a machine Ed Sheeran is. He’s one of the best artists in recent years. What he creates is simply amazing, and Grison slayed too.”
Sheeran has been having a lot of fun with his looping pedal setup on TV performances recently. The English hitmaker put his setup through its paces when he appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in May 2025. At this jam, Teddy brought Fallon in on the fun, getting the host to sing the hooky vocal refrain from his hit “Shape of You.” Sheeran then effortlessly harmonized over Fallon’s part and gave the crowd a show by singing the hit over the top.
Sheeran’s ability to perform in a one-man band format has really allowed the English singer-songwriter to distinguish his live show from the pack. The Music Man readers might be interested to hear that during his Tonight Show appearance, Sheeran said he developed his signature looping style when he was just 14. Sheeran told Fallon that as a 14-year-old he saw solo artist Gary Dunne perform live while “hitting his guitar and recording and it sounded like a drum.” Sheeran explained that this way of performing without needing a band was a revelation to him, noting that “at the time, I wasn’t, like, the coolest kid, and people didn’t want to be in a band with me.” Sheeran added that Dunne subsequently taught him how to use a looping pedal, and that the two musos are still friends to this day.
