If you can bowl over Ed Sheeran like this singing two feet in front of him, then you know you dropped an iconic duet on one of Ed’s most heartbreaking ballads, “Best Part of Me”

“I think this is the best duet Ed has had with a female singer . Taylor and Beyonce were okay but this one with Yebba is lovely,” is what a top commenter had to say after hearing one of Ed Sheeran’s most heartbreaking ballads, “Best Part of Me”, sang with rising star Yebba. Sheeran has sang with the best in the biz and isn’t easy to impress. But when Yebba stood there casually with her hands in her pockets, and just bared her soul on that mic, all the English star could do was smile and watch in awe.

Tucked inside Abbey Road’s Studio Three, Sheeran performed a special live studio version of “Best Part of Me” that would hook 41 million fans. The setup could hardly be simpler. With Sheeran on acoustic guitar, a piano quietly filling out the background, and the two singers positioned face-to-face, the focus stays squarely on their voices. Yebba’s rich tone instantly locks in with Sheeran’s rhythmic phrasing as they trade verses on the vulnerable ballad. Each singer shines on their lead parts, but when they sing in harmony, get ready to melt folks!

That emotional honesty was entirely deliberate. Sheeran revealed around the album’s release that he had purposely written lyrics that made him feel uncomfortable because they were so personal, and he challenged Yebba to bring that same candour to her verse. Yebba co-wrote the tune with Sheeran and producer Benny Blanco, helping to shape a love song that tackles insecurity head-on.

While the Abbey Road session introduced Yebba to a wider audience, she had been building up steam in the industry for the past few years. Hailing from West Memphis, Arkansas, she built her musical foundation by arranging and directing church choirs. In 2019, she had already picked up a Grammy Award alongside PJ Morton for Best Traditional R&B Performance. Sheeran was an early admirer of her talent as well, having invited her to open for him before their duet. Following its upload, the Abbey Road performance was well-received by fans. Several commenters singled out Yebba’s casual vibe and effortless delivery. One top commenter said: “Can we just talk about how Yebba stood up in one spot with her hands in her pocket and BLEW every note on point?” Another viewer commented: “The way these two voices harmonize and compliment each other is out of this world!“

The collaboration arrived during a prolific stretch for Yebba, who spent that year working with Mark Ronson before releasing her celebrated debut album, Dawn, in 2021. She recently followed it up with her sophomore album Jean, which dropped in March 2026.
