Retirees Dietmar and Nellia Ehrentraut are the definition of young at heart! The pair wowed 43 million viewers with their rockin’ dance to Little Neal & The Blue Flames’ “Music to My Ear.” The duo not only have electrifying moves that would blow any couple half their age off the dance floor, but seeing their huge smiles throughout the dance made it such a joy to watch. Viewers said the good vibes mean you just had to crack a smile watching the duo go to town on the dance floor.
The Music Man readers might be interested to hear that Dietmar gave the performance at age 72 while Nellia was 66. Rock ‘n’ roll dancing is evidently good for health, as the German couple are looking as sprightly as can be. This can be seen when Dietmar dips Nellia to the floor at several points and lifts her. The pair have been married since 1970, and if this performance isn’t couple goals, I don’t know what is.
Dietmar and Nellia gave their “Music to My Ear” dance at the 15th Rock That Swing Festival at the Deutsches Theater in Munich, Germany. The couple got a big standing ovation from the crowd at the end. Viewers watching at home were equally impressed and added comments such as “I love the smiles on their faces the entire time, actually loved everything about this” and “I challenge anyone to watch this couple and NOT break out into a smile!”
Dietmar and Nellia are regulars at the Rock That Swing Festival, as they made their way back for the 2024 event to drop another viral dance. This pair hit the dance floor for a high-energy performance, now aged 70 and 76. This video drew 3.7 million views, and the pair show absolutely no signs of slowing down on the dance floor.
As of January 2026, Dietmar and Nellia are still active on the dance scene together. Nellia updates dance lovers about the couple’s activities via her SwingNellia YouTube channel. She notes on the channel that the couple’s passion is for ‘40s and ‘50s era music, and that they love to dance swing, boogie woogie, rockabilly, and rock ‘n’ roll. In addition to their viral success, the pair have won a number of dancing competitions over the years. This doesn’t surprise The Music Man, as Dietmar and Nellia would sure be a hard act to follow on the dance floor!
