Coldplay’s Chris Martin brings a 10 year old fan on stage and sings him an improvised birthday song. The young fan had the best birthday present ever when the superstar sat him down next to his piano and started performing a personalised song for the kid called “Leo”.
Some of his improvised lyrics were “You could go and see Jay-Z, you could go and see Taylor Swift. Or you could go and see Beyoncé, she’s really God’s best gift. So Leo Leo Leo, thanks for coming here today. Leo Leo Leo, I hope we blow you away, thanks my brother Leo, for coming to see Coldplay”. Watch the full improvised performance in the video below.
Everyone has a concert they attended that was so special they’ll never forget it. That must have been the case for Coldplay fans who attended a recent concert at River Plate Stadium in Buenos Aires.
The concert was recorded and will be released as a film called Coldplay – Music of the Spheres: Live at River Plate. The highlight of the movie is when they reach A Sky Full Of Stars. Every member of the audience was issued an LED wristband at the door. When Coldplay begins the song, the lights dim in the stadium.
All you can see are the lights from thousands of bracelets on thousands of fans, all dancing along. Coldplay created a sky full of stars for that performance and for the pleasure of everyone who will watch the film later. The bracelets are amazing but perhaps even more so is the complicated set-up of cameras and drones to achieve a 360° view of the audience.
The video of this song was released ahead of the movie, and as a way of promoting interest, it’s genius. At the time of writing, the video has been on YouTube for nine days, and it’s already been viewed over 3.8 million times which is 425,980 views A DAY! It illustrates how beloved Coldplay are and how many fans they must have around the world.
Even if you’re not one of them, it’s still well worth watching this video. It’s amazing visually to see all the lights dancing in the arena and everyone enjoying themselves so much. It has such a feel-good vibe going on. If you’re not convinced, here’s a YouTube comment to persuade you”
“The sheer spectacle of this concert gives me chills. The lights and confetti and fireworks and thousands of people all overwhelmed with emotion. It’s unbelievable”
This is one video everyone should watch at least once. For Coldplay fans who want to know when they can enjoy the whole film, it will be released in cinemas at the end of April 2023. It features unseen footage as well as interviews that have never been seen before which surely makes it a must-see. Until then, why not go back to the beginning and remember how fabulous Yellow was?
