Celine Dion Makes Incredible Comeback Performing “I’m Alive” At Saudi Arabian Runway Show

Céline Dion made the comeback performance of a lifetime this November when she performed two of her biggest hits, “The Power of Love” and “I’m Alive,” at the Saudi Arabian runway show, The 1001 Seasons of Elie Saab.

Not only does Céline perform from the midst of a revolving stream of models, this performance is unlike any other fashion show Music Man readers are likely to have seen before: no scantily clad, stick-figure supermodels in sight, only long-gowned, sequined Arabians elegantly covered in silks and sparkling fabrics. This sensational show has already amassed over 1.3M views in only one week on YouTube, and tons of praise for the recovering superstar.

Aged 56 at the time of this performance, it’s incredible how finely the Quebecois star’s voice has matured since breaking the charts with the Titanic soundtrack single, “My Heart Will Go On” in 1997, and especially after considering the struggles she’s recently faced.

In 2022, Céline revealed her diagnosis of having Stiff-Person Syndrome, suffering from spasms which curtailed her ability to control her voice and, at other times, physically move, leading her to cancel her world tour. She opened up about her neurological disorder in her 2024 documentary, “I Am: Celine Dion.”

Now, crowning the Arabian catwalk with a boundless sense of confidence, fans have been blown away by Céline’s recovery as she asserts herself as an icon and role model after surmounting an incurable illness that could have ended her career. Her joy at being able to sing such powerhouse hits again is infectious.

Dazzling the stage in a nude/pastel peach gown bejewelled with glistening sequins, and perfectly matched to the same rose gold palette of the models, Céline’s bold voice holds the power to send chills down any listener’s spine, hitting high notes like she’s forever in her prime yet refusing to outshine the models trailing around her, encouraging them as they pass with smiles and hand gestures.

Music Man readers will be equally stunned by the creations of Lebanese designer Elie Saab, whose works are graced across the stage; dresses in every tone of rose, silver, and caramelised gold glistening beneath the spotlight. As Céline’s performance unfolds, a league of ethereal backing dancers replaces the waves of models streaming down the runway, Céline commanding the stage like a fairy godmother and clearly adoring every moment of this unique performance. A roar of applause finishes her set as the stars of the evening file out again on stage.

Make sure you don’t miss the two runway models who stumble on the catwalk but gracefully manage to save themselves as their heels catch on the impossibly long trains of their dresses!
