Britney Spears Reveals Her Uncanny British Accent Chatting With Jonathan Ross In Viral Interview

When Britney Spears appeared on The Jonathan Ross Show in October 2016 for a rambunctious interview, one hilarious moment left the show host speechless and went viral with 2.45M views in under a year. Britney’s interview touched all bases, from her childhood to her current love life as a single woman, with Jonathan’s questions making way for some awkward moments which prove what a star Britney truly is.

Britney (aged 34 at the time) steals the show instantaneously, stepping on the talk show stage in a black bodycon with cut-out waist, fishnet sleeves and a thick black choker. After a huge welcome from the audience and one guy howling “I love you, Britney!”, Jonathan unravels the pop legend’s secret British heritage. Britney reveals her London-born grandma “spoke British” and does a perfect mimicry of her British accent.

Fans can’t get over how spot-on Britney’s British accent sounds. Considering she was born and raised in Louisiana, the pop star masters the sound of an old lady saying “Oh” as if she was born to do it.

Jonathan tries to dive deeper into Britney’s connection to the UK, awkwardly asking if she likes British men since “you’re single at the moment.” When Britney replies, “Yes,” a member of the studio audience pipes up hilariously, “Britney, I’m British!”

The pair also delve into Britney Spears’ then-current Las Vegas residency shows, “Britney: Piece of Me,” where she played almost 250 concerts in total. Performing shows three nights a week, Jonathan joked, “That’s easy then, you could get another job to make ends meet!”

More topics arising in this 20-minute clip include Britney’s anecdote about getting second-hand stoned off someone else’s marijuana and having to leave her own show; finding her roots in the Mickey Mouse Club with Justin Timberlake and Christina Aguilera; putting on the stage persona of ‘Britney’; dating guys that look like lizards; singing on helium and talking about her sons Sean Preston and Jayden James, then 11 and 10 years old.

Jonathan also digs up photos of some of Britney’s most iconic music video outfits for her to comment on, including the “…Baby One More Time” schoolgirl look and the red catsuit of “Oops!… I Did It Again.”

The Music Man realizes this clip was filmed in the midst of Britney’s infamous conservatorship, leaving some fans enchanted by her warrior-like strength, articulation and patience during this interview whilst battling through some of the hardest years of her life.
