Bradley Cooper And Lady Gaga Oscars Performance “Shallow”

The film ‘A Star Is Born’ not only became well-loved by the public but also created a great friendship between pop icon Lady Gaga and actor and voice of Rocket Racoon Bradley Cooper.

During the Oscars ceremony, Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga walked hand in hand from the audience to the stage to sing a live rendition of their hit song “Shallow”. They aimed to recreate the love scene from the movie and their steamy live performance went mega on social media hitting over 731 million views. During her residency stint in Vegas, Bradley Cooper was sat in the crowd with Todd Phillips. Lady Gaga announced this to the crowd and the place lit up with cheers. Then a special moment happened, and he was invited up onto the stage.

Like no time had passed since filming the two slipped right back into it with a rendition of ‘Shallow’, and even recreating a couple of scenes from the film.

Its not the only time this song has been performed live, at the 2019 Oscars ceremony the duo took to the stage to perform this song, receiving a standing ovation by the end of the song.

Bradley Cooper continues to impress with his singing voice since the release of ‘A Star Is Born’ in 2018 with the soundtrack selling over six million copies as of June 2019. Lady Gaga who has been such a big name in music for years now proves exactly why, a phenomenal and powerful voice really fits these songs that require emotion.

The original release of this track was met with love by fans labelled as a “stunning duet” by Nicole Engelman at Billboard, and Eve Barlow at Pitchfork said “the theme might be Gaga’s own apex in the spotlight, her completion into a superstar of charts and screen.” ‘Shallow’ won Best Original Song at the 91st Academy Awards.

Originally A Star Is Born was released in 1937, with remakes in 1954 and 1976, with country music legend Kris Kristofferson playing Bradley Cooper’s role. That role was of an alcoholic musician, discovering and falling in love with a younger singer and in turn rediscovering that musical love.

The film was released to huge critical acclaim grossing $436.2 million worldwide at the box office. It also reviewed well gaining a 90% on Rotten Tomatoes with 535 critics with an average rating of 8/10. 60 critics reviewed the film for Metacritic gaining a rating of 88/100, and a 4.5 star rating in Rolling Stone with the quote “a modern classic”.

The aforementioned residency in Las Vegas taken by Lady Gaga was reported as a $75 million deal and is ushering in a new era of entertainment in the gambling capital of Nevada. The shows were spread over two years at the MGM Park Theatre on the strip.

Lady Gaga had her residency at the same time as Bruno Mars and puts her name into history alongside Britney Spears, J-Lo, Ricky Martin, The Backstreet Boys and the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll Elvis.
